Behind The Press:

Our Printing Process: High-Quality Apparel with Screenprinted Transfers

At Hartman Graphics we take pride in delivering top-tier apparel that lasts. Our printing process utilizes plastisol screen printed transfers, a technique known for its vibrant colors, long-lasting durability, and crisp detail. Plastisol transfers are the go-to choice for high-quality custom prints because they adhere seamlessly to fabrics, ensuring your design stays sharp and intact after multiple washes.

Screen printed heat transfers offer an alternative to direct screen printing--which we also used to do in house. Whereas traditional screen printing is produced directly onto the final substrate, heat transfers are manufactured by screen printing onto a carrier paper or film treated with a special release coating.  The transfer is then applied to the final substrate using a commercial grade heat press.

In both cases, similar or even the exact same inks are used – typically plastisol, water based, or solvent based inks. These inks are pushed through mesh screens to create single and multi-color designs which can be applied to a variety of clothing items and accessories including t-shirts, sweatshirts, polos, sports uniforms, bags, hats, can coolers and more.

Here's how it works:

  1. Design Preparation: Your custom artwork is expertly prepared and printed onto a special transfer paper using plastisol ink.
  2. Transfer Application: The printed design is then carefully heat-pressed onto your chosen apparel, creating a smooth, durable finish. We use COMMERCIAL grade heat pressess--no hobby presses here!
  3. Final Touches: After the transfer, the design is allowed to set, ensuring the print is vibrant, durable, and ready to wear.

Whether it’s for a small batch or a large order, our plastisol transfer process guarantees high-quality prints that maintain their integrity, wash after wash. Let us bring your vision to life with stunning, professional results!
